E. Nadine Pitney

E. Nadine Pitney, 79   Nadine Pitney, 79, Cherry Valley, passed away peacefully in her home on August 26, 2008.  The daughter of Gladys and P.T. Willoughby, she was born June 28, 1929 in Springfield, MO.  Married Gerald Pitney on June 24, 1950.  Survived by her husband Gerald; two sons Jay (Kay) Pitney and Daniel (Tabitha) Pitney; two daughters, Linda (Larry) Jameson and Jerrine Cazy; one sister, Dr. Karen Janine (Gordon) Hatcher; 16 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.  Predeceased by her son, Perry Pitney in 2004 and her mother and father.  Graduate of Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Missouri, William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri and Southwest Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas.  She was an elementary and Sunday School teacher in Missouri and Illinois.  She named and directed the Christian Care Center of the Rockford Rescue Mission where she faithfully served for more than three decades.  She was a charter member of Lincoln Wood Baptist Church where she served as church pianist until her health no longer allowed.  A model wife, mother and Christian, Nadine will be greatly missed by the community and those who loved her.   Funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 30, 2008 in the Rockford Rescue Mission.  Burial in Greenwood Cemetery.  Visitation from 7:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. Friday also at the Mission.  Memorials may be made to the Rockford Rescue Mission, the place she loved and served for so many years.  The family is being assisted by Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S.
