Dr. Norman Nielsen, 85
Rockford- Dr. Norman Nielsen, 85, passed away Friday, April 8, 2016 at the VA Nursing Home in LaSalle, IL. Born May 15, 1930, in Chicago, the son of Thomas H. & Ida (Peterson) Nielsen. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Norman received his B.A from Wheaton College and his D.C from National Chiropractic College. Moved to the Rockford area in 1959 where he started his own Chiropractor business. He married his love Elizabeth “Betty” Riganti in Rockford on March 30, 1968. He was a member of First Evangelical Church and President of Tri-County Chiropractic Association and President’s Club of Chiropractic National College, Illinois Chiropractic Society and American Chiropractic Association. Norman was known for his charismatic ways. He was the life of the party. He will be truly missed.
Survivors include wife Betty; son Craig Nielsen; stepdaughter Linda (Dan) Landerholm; grandchildren Brody Richardson, Tonya Landerholm, Brandon Lindquist, and 2 step great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by parents and infant daughter Eliza Michelle.

Service will be 1 pm Monday, April 18, 2016 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Rd., Rockford, with the Rev. Dean Parker officiating. Visitation from 12 pm until time of service.
