Dr. James "Jim" Morgano

Dr. James “Jim” Morgano, 59, Rockford, passed away on Monday, June 13, 2022, in his home surrounded by his family, following a courageous fight with cancer. Jim was born May 8, 1963, in Royal Oak, MI, the son of Peter and Nancy (Nine) Morgano. In 1975, his family moved from Michigan to St. Charles, IL. Jim graduated from St. Charles High School in 1981. He studied at the University of Illinois from 1981-1986 graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Biology. He then earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from National College of Chiropractic in 1990. Jim was also a certified Chiropractic Sports Physician and was certified in acupuncture. He was a practicing Chiropractic Physician in the Rockford area for over 30 years, most recently at Circle of Wellness in Rockford. Dr. Morgano was truly loved by his patients and the staff he worked alongside every day. He found joy in talking to everyone and being able to help people daily. Jim met the love of his life, JoAnn Long, in 1993, in Rockford. They married on June 22, 1996, in Rockford. Together they had two sons, Noah (23) and Lucas (21). Jim loved to talk about and watch sports, especially the Chicago White Sox and the Chicago Bears. He also loved listening to music and going on yearly family vacations, especially to Jensen Beach, FL.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, JoAnn; his children, Noah and Lucas; his mother, Nancy Morgano; his sisters, Karen (Gary) Channell of Novi, MI and Janet (Neil) Reske of Iowa City, IA; his brothers, John (Marianne) Morgano of St. Charles, Peter (Beth) Morgano, Jr. of DeKalb and Richard (Tanja) Morgano of Oswego; his sister-in-law, Sandra (Jeff) Seiver and his brother-in-law, Michael Long, both of Freeport; several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his father, Peter Morgano and his niece, Michelle Zimmerman. Jim was a good man who loved well and was loved by many in return. Jim will be deeply missed and loved forever.
A Celebration of Life gathering and open house will be held from noon until 4:00 P.M. on Saturday, June 25, 2022, at Franchesco’s Ristorante, 7128 Spring Creek Rd., Rockford. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family. Share online condolences at www.fitzgeraldfh.com.
