Douglas William Anderson

.Douglas William Anderson, 41, of Byron, died unexpectedly on Sunday, Jan. 3, 2016 at SwedishAmerican Hospital. Born Dec. 18, 1974 in Rockford, the son of William and Jackie (Miller) Anderson. He was proud to be a Shriner’s Kid and met many wonderful Doctors and nurses while receiving treatment when growing up. Doug graduated from Byron High School in 1994 and earned his associates degree from MATC in Milwaukee. He was a hard worker and had a knack for fixing anything. He was always willing and able to help friends and family with projects they might have. His humor and smile will be missed greatly by his family and those that had a chance to know him.
Survivors include his parents, Bill and Jackie Anderson of Byron; sister, Heidi Anderson-Martinez of Byron; nephew, Vincent Martinez; niece, Victoria Martinez; uncles, Ray (Debie) Miller of Stillman Valley, Bob (Ollie) Miller of LaSalle and Larry Benson of Port Charlotte, FL; aunts, Jody (Mike) Twardowski of Duluth, MN and Barb Dilley of Loves Park and numerous first and second cousins. He was preceded in death by his Maternal and Paternal grandparents and niece, Eloisa Martinez.
Funeral service Saturday, Jan. 9, 2016 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel 1860 S. Mulford Rd. at 11 a.m. Burial will be held in Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Winnebago. Visitation Friday, Jan. 8 from 5-7 p.m. and continues on Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers memorials to the family for a fund to be established.
