Douglas James Heath, 32, of Belvidere, passed away suddenly the morning of April 29, 2018.
Doug was born on November 18, 1985 in Elgin, Illinois, to Daniel and Julie (Withey) Heath. He spent a great deal of his childhood in Haines City, Florida, where he enjoyed riding airboats and he graduated from Haines City High School in 2004. In 2003, he met the love of his life, Danielle, and they were married at their home in Belvidere, surrounded by family and friends on September 26, 2009. Doug was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Belvidere and his faith in God was unwavering. Doug dedicated his professional life to his family’s businesses, including Horizon Distributors, T6 Broadband, Green Meadows Nursery and Triple D Genetics. He was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding his motorcycle. But, his greatest accomplishment was his four children – they were his world and he will always be their hero.
Doug will be profoundly missed by his wife, Danielle Heath and his four young children, Cole Heath, Malachi Heath, Hunter Heath and Anniston Heath, all of Belvidere; his father, Daniel Heath, of Poplar Grove; his in-laws, Rhonda Paoli and Daniel Lynn of Cherry Valley; his brother, Daniel (Nicole) Heath and their children of Belvidere; his grandparents, Janice Withey of Haines City, Florida, Daniel (Karen) Heath of Osseo, Wisconsin and Gordon Austin of Mission, Texas, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends. Doug was greeted in Heaven by his mother, Julie Heath; his father-in-law, Steven Paoli, and his grandparents, Jerry Withey, Diane Austin and Sarah Chapin.
The family will receive visitors on Friday, May 4th from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Belvidere. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 5th at 2:30 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Reverend Allen Buss officiating, immediately followed by a reception in the Fellowship Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Doug’s memory to the Rosecrance Foundation.
Arrangements have been completed by Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 South Mulford Road, Rockford, IL 61108. To share online condolences and memories, please visit www.fitzgeraldfh.com.
