Dorothy Jenkins, 95, Rockford, went to be with her Heavenly Father, Saturday, September 6, 2014, in her home. She was born in Corning, Arkansas on September 12, 1918, the daughter of Jim and Lilly Murrey. She married Ben Jenkins and he predeceased her in 1956. Dorothy spent most of her life in Rockford where she raised 10 children and loving 33 grandchildren, 65 great-grandchildren and 47 great-great grandchildren.
Survived by her children, Rosamay Lawler of Rockford, Nancy Lee (Charles)Pinkston of Longview, Texas, Della "Kathy" (Jerome) Schiess of Kansas City, Missouri, Johnny Jenkins of Rockford, David (Darlene) Jenkins of Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin, and Emma "Paulette" (Ronald) Cardey of Missouri. Predeceased by her parents; her husband, Ben; her daughter, Janet Kiatathikom; her sons, Ralph Jenkins, Bobby Jenkins, and James Bruner; 3 grandsons, Ronald Cardey, Robert Schiess, and Christopher Schiess; 2 granddaughters, Karen Bruner and Bonnie Sue; 2 brothers, John and Denver; and 3 sisiters, Kelsie, Twila, and Della.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, September 11, 2014, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. with Reverend Philip Henselin of New Life Lutheran Church officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 10, 2014, at the funeral home and from 10:00 A.M. until time of service on Thursday. Cremation rites will be accorded following the service.
