Dorothy Gloria Bryant

Loving Mother, Grandmother and Friend. Dorothy Gloria Bryant, 83, of Rockford, passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Cor Mariae. Born on April 8, 1929 in Minnesota; daughter of Opal and CoraMae (Cassem) Wheeler. She married Norvelle Bryant in 1950. Dorothy worked as a Food Service Director and Safety Director for Bethany Methodist Hospital, Mather Home, Stouffer's and Marriott, during this time she was a member of NIFESA Food Source Organization. After retiring from Marriott she went on to work for Westfall Jewelry and then for JC Penny for many years. Survivors include her children, Christine (Robert) Kramer of Machesney Park, Stacy Carson of Rockford, Karen (Merle) Peugh, of Sterling, Steven (Barbara) Bryant of Arlington Heights and Shelly Bryant of Slinger, WI; 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her parents and Norvelle. Memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 14, 2013 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Rd., Rockford, IL 61108 with Pastor Ron Hoekstra officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
