Dorothy Mae Ferwerda, 91, Rockford, passed away Monday, October 22, 2012, in P.A. Peterson Home surrounded by her loving family.nbsp; She was born April 2, 1921, in Rockford, the daughter of Arthur Johnsonnbsp; andnbsp; Ora (Carey) Long.nbsp; Dorothy married Donald Ferwerda in Beloit, Wisconsin on December 23, 1939.nbsp; He predeceased her on September 16, 1980.

Survived by her daughters, Jorgiann (Chester) Long and Cherie (Lance) Simpson, both of Rockford; her grandsons, Jason Long and Colin Simpson; her sister, Joan (Jim) Scheibly of Rockford; her brother, Bill (Inger) Johnson of Dallas, Texas.nbsp; Predeceased by her husband, Donald and her sister, Arlyne Chamberlain.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am, Friday, October 26, 2012, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Av with Rev. Dean Parker officiating.nbsp; Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens.nbsp; Visitation from 10:00 am until time of service on Friday at the funeral home.
