Dorothy F. McCoy Sullivan, 93, Rockford, died February 4, 2008 in OSF St. Anthony Medical Center.nbsp; Born in the same hospital on August 10, 1914, daughter of Frank and Alta Strong McCoy.nbsp; Graduated from Belvidere High School in 1934 and prior to her marriage she worked at F.W. Woolworth Co. in Belvidere.nbsp; On August 1, 1942 she married Eugene B. Sullivan at St. James Catholic Church in Belvidere.nbsp; Dorothy was very involved in music; she played the trumpet in high school and played drums in an all-girls band. nbsp;She also sang in the choir at St. Rita Church for many years.nbsp; She loved flowers and animals and enjoyed oil painting, crewel and ceramics.nbsp; She was always supportive of the Girl Scouts and the highlight of her life were her grandchildren.nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;
Survivors include her daughter, Mary Sue Sullivan (Joe) Scordato; grandchildren, Joseph (Maureen) Scordato, Nancy (Scott) Chachula, Peter (Angela) Scordato, Ted (Lori) Scordato, John (Suzy) Scordato, Mary Jo (Scott) LeGrand, Kathryn (Jimmy) Sartino and Timothy Scordato; 22 great-grandchildren with another one expected in May.nbsp; Predeceased by her husband, Eugene Sullivan, her parents, Frank and Alta McCoy, her daughter, Carol Ann Sullivan and her brothers, Kenneth McCoy and Bill McGraw.nbsp;nbsp;
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 23, 2008 in St. Rita Catholic Church with Rev. Matthew Camaioni officiating.nbsp; Visitation from 10:00 a.m. until time of the Mass at the church on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, Masses for Dorothy will be appreciated.nbsp; Arrangements were completed by Fitzgerald Funeral Home amp; Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S.
