Dorothy C. Gannon

DOROTHY C. GANNON, 84, Rockford, died at 7:35 a.m. Tuesday, May 8, 2007 in OSF St. Anthony Medical Center. Born April 2, 1923 in Rockford, daughter of Stanley M. and Stella Walczak Lucek. Graduate of Muldoon High School. Married John E. Gannon on October 20, 1973. Employed as the Office Manager at Rockford Dry Goods for many years. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and formerly a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. She was also a member of the Blackhawk Trails Hiking Club. Dorothy was a devout, kind and considerate woman who always thought of others. Survivors include her daughter Bonnie (Brian) Polster; sons, Scott Gannon and Ronald ""Mike"" Gannon; grandchildren, Andrew & Amy Polster; several grandchildren; aunt, Martha Cieslak and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents; husband, John; brothers, Walter (Madge), Julian (Blanche), and Stanley (Adele) Lucek; and sister, Sr. Mary Donald. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 14, 2007 in Holy Family Catholic Church. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation from 4-6 p.m. Sunday in Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. with a Rosary to be recited at 5:30 p.m. A visitation will also be held from 10 a.m. until time of the Mass at the church on Monday. Memorials may be made to St. Patrick Catholic Church.
