Donna M. Celner, 80, Rockford, passed away on Thursday, January 17, 2013. She was born on January 25, 1932; the daughter of John and Beatrice (Comp) Newman. Donna attended grade school in Cherry Valley and graduated from Muldoon High School class of 1949. She married Stanley Celner on February 14, 1953. Donna worked several years as a secretary for an accounting firm and also with Catholic Charities. Donna had a passion for antiques and upon her retirement she started her own business called Pfinishes. Donna was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved her dogs and enjoyed gardening. Donna devoted herself to the Blackhawk Area Council of Boy Scouts serving as district commissioner. She also attended training at Philmont. She was especially proud of her Wood Badge and Silver Beaver Award. Donna is survived by her husband of nearly 60 years, Stanley; sons, Stanley (Lori) Celner, Timothy (Anne) Celner and Thomas Celner; brothers, John Newman and Michael Newman; sister, Carol Klotz; grandchildren, Victoria, Benjamin, Aidan and Jonathan. Predeceased by her parents and daughterinlaw, Lisabeth Rohlck. Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 Monday, January 21, 2013 at St. James Catholic Church, 428 N. 2 nd St. Visitation from 10:00 until the time of Mass. Private burial in Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
