Donald G. Torgerson

Donald G. Torgerson, 83, Rockford, died on May 15, 2023 in River Crossing of Rockford. Born December 13, 1939 in Bode, IA, son of Oscar and Ora Lansing Torgerson. He was a long time member of the Alpine Lutheran Church which was very important to him. He loved spending time with his friends from church. He especially enjoyed having holiday and Sunday night dinners with a church friend and her family. He was a member of a Bible Study group and volunteered in several aspects of the church. Don was a generous, kind, loving and gentle soul who never complained. He enjoyed playing solitaire and word games and was a diehard Green Bay Packers fan. He will be missed.

Don’s family would like to thank his granddaughter, Connie Gille, his special friends, Harriet Brown and Don White, as well as his church congregational friends and his caregivers from River Crossing for the genuine love, concern and care that was given to him.

Survivors include his brothers, Alan (Smoky) Torgerson and Robert (Marilyn) Torgerson as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, wife, 3 sisters and a brother.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in Alpine Lutheran Church with Rev. Dan Wynard officiating.
