Donald F. Easton

Brother and Uncle Rockford--Donald F. Easton, “Unk”, 85 of Rockford, passed away peacefully Thursday, July 18, 2013 in his home surrounded by his family. Born Oct. 26th, 1927 in Loves Park; the son of Henry and Grace (Teachout) Easton. He married Audrey J. Peterson on June 13, 1953; she predeceased him February 25, 2013. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. Don served in the Army Air Corps and worked 35 years at Acme Redimix. He loved gardening, planting, and watching the birds. Survived by two brothers, Howard and Richard (Barb) Easton, three sisters, Elinor (Ed) Vaher, Eloise Jeardeau, and Alice Chambers; sister-in-law, Doris Peterson; the ones he raised as his own, Kathy, Rachele, Ryan, Kelsey, and Kyler and Aubrey; and several other nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his wife, parents, and brothers, Robert, Gilbert, and Raymond. Special thanks to staff on 9 West at Swedish American Hospital, Hospice Care of America, Rebecca Martins (caregiver) and Rachele for all their support and care. Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at Zion Lutheran Church, 925 Fifth Ave. Visitation will be 6:30 p.m. to 7:30p.m. on Monday at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Mulford Chapel, 1860 South Mulford Road, and will continue at 9:30 a.m. until the time of service, at the church on Tuesday.
