Donald E. Lane, Sr.

Donald Eugene Lane, Sr., 75, passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2017. He was born to Harry Lane, Jr and Euhl Marie Vester on July 30, 1942 in Palakta, Arkansas. Don graduated from Biggers Reyno High School. He lived as a young man in Rockford, Illinois where he worked on photography and various sales positions. Don spent most of his adult life in Chicago, working in construction and remodeling, later in real estate.
He is survived by his companion, Carolyn Dolder; mother, Juanita (Elmo) Blackburn; his brothers, Charles Ray (Suzan) Cushman, John Edward Lane, and Harry Keith Lane; sister, Phyllis Diane (Dan) Taylor; daughter, Rhonda (Scott) Wolter, and son, Donald E. (Renee) Lane, Jr.; grandchildren, Kent Fales, Jr., Donny Fales, Teresa (Alex) Lemaster, Benny Arnold, Jr., Christopher Fales, Nathanael Fales, Jessica Fales, Scott Wolter, Jr., Haley Wolter, Claudia Wolter, James Keith (Crystal) Lane, John Paul Lane, and Bethany (Justin) Fry; great grandchildren, Sammy, Ethan, Christopher, Chloe, and Amilia Fales; Alexis and Bryce Lemaster, Trent Howard, Mackenzy, Katlyn, Adam, Grace, Jewelia, Jazmine, Emma, and Gabriel Lane, and Ariana Danforth; and numerous nieces and nephews. Don is preceeded in death by his parents, and brother, Larry Dewayne Lane. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Noah's Ark Animal Sanctuary, 111 N 1st St, Rockford, IL 61107.
