Donald “Don” Jay Renwick, 92, of Rockford, passed away on August 16, 2022.
He was born July 13, 1930, in Chicago, the son of Percy and Lavinia (Schuman) Renwick. He married Bernadette “Bernie” Mast on July 30, 1955, in Chicago. She predeceased Don on February 7, 2018. Don served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a member of St. Rita Catholic Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and photography. He was a handyman, and if it couldn’t be fixed, duct tape could do it! He was a helpful, creative, and good-hearted man, who was an amazing husband, father, and grandfather.
He is survived by his children, Robert (Jacqueline) Renwick, Dorothy (Richard) Scanlan, and Donna Osmun (Mark Trikie); grandchildren, Rene'e (Christopher) Chuchna, Janelle (Joel) Anderson, Nicholle (Brandon Ross) Renwick, Joseph Scanlan, Christofer (Michelle) Scanlan, Brian Scanlan, Russell (Juliet) Osmun, Nicholas (Crystal) Osmun, Danielle Osmun, and Andrea (Steve) Mazzocato and 6 great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by his parents, wife and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law.
A public visitation will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2022, from 9:30 – 10:30 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Road, Rockford 61108. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow the visitation, starting at 11:00 am, at St. Rita Catholic Church, 6254 Valley Knoll Drive, Rockford 61109. Burial will take place in Willwood Burial Park, 7000 W. State Street, Rockford 61102.
