Don Carter

Don Carter, 59 of Rockford passed away on April 3, 2008. Born September 4, 1948 in Rockford, the son of Donald Robert Carter and Lucylle Scholler. Don married Peggy Jones on April 15, 1974 in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Don worked 11 years as a security guard for Cadbury Adams Co. and numerous other places. He also worked as a projectionist for many years at  several local places. Don proudly served in the United States Army and was stationed in Korea during Vietnam.   Don is survived by his wife Peggy, sons Michael Carter and Jimmy Carter, sister Monica Cox, mother-in-law Marie Jones, sister-in-law Karol Whitmire, brother-in-law Charles Jones, several loving nieces and nephews and special friends. He is predeceased by his parents and brothers Robert and Frank Carter.   Funeral Services will be Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at 12:00 p.m. in Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd., Rockford with the Rev. Dr. William R. Kerr, Sr. officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of service on Wednesday. Interment will follow in Willwood Burial Park. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the family. To
