Domenica Caravello

Domenica Caravello, 81 of Rockford, passed away on May 16th, 2024, surrounded by her family. She was born in Palma di Montechiaro, Italy on July 5th, 1942. The daughter of Giovanni and Maria (Farrugia) Ingrao. She married the love of her life, Paolo Caravello on September 28th, 1964. She was a devoted patron to St. Rita and emplified strength through her devotion and compassion. She treasured her family above all else and found joy in the simple moments like family dinners and spending time with her grandchildren. Her overwhelming love and dedication to her family will forever be cherished and remembered. Domenica worked at Nelson Knitting Company for many years before raising her grandchildren. She is survived by her children Joseph (Kim) Caravello, John (Michelle Canova) Caravello, Rita (Todd) Schmidt and Maria (Michael) Alfano. Her grandchildren Alyssa (Andrew) Hartell, Joey, Nick, Zoey, Giana, Gabrielle, Luca, Silvana, Sienna, Mikey, and Morgan. Predeceased by her parents (Giovanni and Maria Ingrao) brother(Beppe Ingrao) and husband of 52 years, Paolo Caravello. The family would like to thank the staff at Sanctuary Hospice for their compassionate care and love. A special thank you to Dr. Steven Disanti and Dr. Mete Korkmaz. 

 A visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at St. Anthoy of Padua Catholic Church followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Burial in Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery.   Memorials may be directed to the family.   The family was assisted by Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel.  Send condolences and share memories at www.fitzgeraldfh.com.
