Dolores C. Rouse, 83, Midland, Michigan, passed away on Sunday, November 18, 2012. She was born in Chicago, IL. on March 27, 1929; the daughter of Thomas and Mary (Barrett) Kennedy. Dolores attended Mercy High School, graduating in 1947. She married James Rouse on May 1, 1954. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many. Dolores had an eye for fashion and loved color. Knitting and sewing was the joy of her life.
She was a founder of Stitch and Prayer, a group that was formed at Assumption Parish in Midland, Michigan.
The only thing that Dolores loved more than knitting and sewing was small children.
She was a substitute Religious Education teacher at her parish and had wonderful stories to tell about the children.
Dolores extended her passion for children and knitting by encouraging others to provide clothing for premature babies at local hospitals.
Dolores is survived by her husband, James; sons, Martin J. and Thomas L. Rouse; daughter, Mary (Richard) Jensen; grandchildren, Patrick and Brendan Jensen.
Predeceased by her parents and brother, Thomas Bud Kennedy Jr.
Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 am on Saturday, November 24, 2012 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 4407 Highcrest Rd. Visitation will be from 4:00 8:00 pm on Friday, November 23, 2012 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. and from 9:30 until mass on Saturday at Church.
