Dolores M. Mikels

Dolores M. Mikels, 95, of Rockford, passed away Friday, March 30, 2018. She was born May 31, 1922, in Rock Falls, Illinois, the daughter of David and Edith (Henderson) Knight. She married Harold Mikels on March 24, 1945, in El Paso, Texas. Dolores enjoyed quilting but most of all she cherished time spent with her family. Especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister.
Survived by her son, Barry (Caroline) Mikels; granddaughter, Amy (David) Timonen; grandson, Joel Mikels; great grandchildren, Christopher, Amanda and Zachary Timonen; brother, Donald (Betty) Knight. Predeceased by her husband Harold; parents; twin sister, Delyle and brother, Edward. The family would like to thank the caring and compassionate staff at PA Peterson at the Citadel.
Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd., Rockford, IL 61108. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. until time of service at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Mulford Chapel. Burial at Oak Knoll Memorial Park, 18268 Pennington Rd, Sterling, IL 61081.
