Loving Husband, Dad, Grandpa and Great Grandpa
Digby Digger Lindquist, 84, Rockford died at 4:14 p.m. on Monday, October 9, 2012 at Huntington Place in Janesville. Digger was born on January 26, 1928 in Naperville, IL; the son of Roy and Martha (Reith) Lindquist. He was a member of the National Cross Country Team representing Drake University in the fall of 1945 and served in the Marines from 1946 1948. He married Norma Miller on October 14, 1950. He worked at General Electric in sales for over 40 years and retired in 1991. Digger was a loving husband, dad, grandpa and greatgrandpa, enjoyed working in the yard, fishing in Canada, golfing and spending time with friends.
Survivors include children, Peggy Ekedahl, of Milton, WI. and Tom (Anne) Lindquist of Rockford; grandchildren, Kelly (Chad) Kleifoth, of Milton, Michael (Jessica) Ekedahl, of Janesville; great grandchildren, Alaina, Ethan, Andrew and Brady; numerous nieces and nephews; lifelong friends, Gerald and Marian Strand. Digger is predeceased by parents; wife, Norma; siblings, Roy Lindquist, Donald Lindquist and Paulette Hilton
Funeral Service will be at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 200 N. 1 st street with Pastor, Jay Quinn officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 6:00 p.m. on Friday, October 12, 2012 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. and from 2:00 p.m until the time of service on Saturday at the Church.
