Dennis R. Hanson

Dennis R. Hanson, 79, of Rockford, Illinois passed away Friday, November 25, 2022, in his home with his wife by his side. Dennis was born January 15, 1943, in Rockford, Illinois the son of Ingvar and Novella (Carlson) Hanson. Dennis attended Rockford East High School, graduating in 1961. He went on to obtain his bachelor’s degree from MacMurray College. Dennis proudly served his country in the United States Army for 3 years. He married the love of his life, Linda Leopold on May 1, 1971. Dennis worked at Burgess Battery Laboratory in Freeport, IL and then Barber Colman until his retirement. In his early years Dennis enjoyed golfing and fishing. Dennis also enjoyed antiquing with Linda. He was a quiet, kind man with a generous heart. He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.

Dennis is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Linda; bothers-in-law, Nathan (Judith) Leopold and Roy Leopold. Predeceased by his parents, Ingvar and Novella; and brother, Ron Hanson.

A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, December 6, 2022, form 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Inurnment will follow at Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery.
