Dennis M. Hendrix

Dennis M. Hendrix, 61, of Loves Park, passed away Wednesday November 7, 2018. He was born July 17, 1957 in Rockford, Illinois, the son of Juanita (Dreis) and Austin Hendrix. Dennis married the love of his life, Amanda “Mandie” Anderson, she preceded him in death. He worked many years as a plumber and pipe fitter with Local 23. Dennis was a strong willed, hardworking man with a great sense of humor. In his younger years Dennis enjoyed racing motorcycles and later transitioned into sailing and boating. He loved scuba diving and traveling to tropical beaches. He will be forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Survived by his sons, Nicholas (Adele) Hendrix and Alex Hendrix; brothers, Dave (Vicki) Hendrix and Dean (Terri) Hendrix; nephew, Dave Hendrix Jr. and niece, Amy Gordon. Preceded in death by his parents and wife, Mandie.
A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Thursday, November 15, 2018 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Rockford, IL 61108. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Thursday, November 15, 2018 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for a foundation to be determined.
