Dennis H. Hawker

Dennis H. Hawker, 67, of Rockford, crossed the finish line on Tuesday, December 23, 2014. Born July 7, 1947 in Rockford; son of Hugh and Violet Hawker. Dennis married his loving wife Kim, four years ago, after spending thirty-two years together. He worked as a machinist for Amistar for several years. Dennis loved fishing with his buddies, hot rods, motorcycles, and especially loved his dogs. Dennis is survived by his wife, Kim; daughters, Misty (Kevin) Hawker and Melissa Gaines; brother, Greg Hawker; his faithful dog, Sarah; 7 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; sister-in-law, Debbie Januse; and several nieces, nephews, and special friends. He is predeceased by his parents; his brother, Rod Hawker; mother-in-law, Darlene Krominga; and his loving dogs, Maggie and Tasha. Dennis’ family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to the Nursing Staff at OSF St. Anthony, 3rd Floor, South Wing. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, December 30, 2014, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Mulford Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
