Dennis “Denny” J. Greenberg, 67, Rockford, passed away at home on Friday, April 9, 2021, from complications due to Parkinson’s. He managed his illness with strength, never complaining, always managing to smile, especially when surrounded by family. He was born June 2, 1953, in Rockford, the son of Ralph and Adaline (Ryan) Greenberg. Denny was a graduate of Boylan Catholic High School, class of 1971. He then enrolled in automotive classes at Rock Valley College. He retired in 2007, after 21 years in the parts department at Anderson Nissan Mazda. His favorite pastime was fishing and water skiing on Green Lake in Wisconsin.
Denny leaves behind his wife of 46 years, Margarita (Jarosekas) Greenberg; sons, Todd (Sarah) and Eric (Vanessa); grandchildren, EJ, Ella, Eva, and Emma; brothers, Neil (Elaine), Barry (Kathy), and Brian (Traci); nieces, Karen Schiavo, Jes Weber, and Hannah Greenberg; brother-in-law, Bill Weber; best friends, Willy Larsen, Mike Jackman, and Steve Pirages; and dog, Yoda. Special thanks to the Heartland Hospice staff for their compassionate care, especially Claudine Bjork.
There will be no services for Denny. Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory assisted the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date. Share online condolences at www.fitzgeraldfh.com.
