Dennis Carl Grottke

Dennis C. Grottke, 62, of Rockford passed away surrounded by his family on Friday, November 3, 2017. He was born on January 25, 1955 in Rockford, the son of William and Marguerite (Belau) Grottke. He was a machinist for Rockford Products for many years. He married the love of his life, Janet Baxter, on August 16, 1974 at Silver Hill Pentecostal Church. He was a devoted member of Silver Hill Pentecostal Church in Rockford. Dennis has an amazing gift for building and fixing just about anything, which he often used at church or to teach others. He was a faithful family man, particularly his grandchildren.

He is survived by his daughters, Denise (Davis) Purifoy, Jennifer Stohr; grandchildren, Jaden, Julias, Janaea, Aidin and Ava; brothers, Roydean (Teri) Grottke, and Rondell (Paulette) Grottke. He is predeceased by his wife, Janet, and parents.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Silver Hill Pentecostal Church. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 7, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the church, and will continue the following morning at 10:30 a.m. until time of service. Burial Sunset Memorial Gardens.
