Delores J. Flanagan

Delores June (Erwin) Flanagan, age 98, passed away on Wednesday December 27, 2023, at Ascension Living St. Anne Place in Rockford, IL following a short illness. She was born December 5, 1925, near Kent, IL to Lowell and Florence (Geise) Erwin. Delores married John F. (Jack) Flanagan on January 17, 1948, in Freeport, IL. He passed away July 30, 1990. Delores was employed by J.I. Case, W.F. and John Barnes, and retired from the Rock River Water Reclamation District. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and the Moose Club for many years. She was an avid bowler, loved bingo and playing cards. She enjoyed her time at St. Anne Place where she made many friends with whom she spent time and ate her meals. Delores was dearly loved by her family and friends.

Delores is survived by her son William Flanagan, daughter Linda (Flanagan) Drumeller, daughter-in-law Phyllis Flanagan; grandchildren Katie (Matt) Stenger, Patrick Flanagan, Chris and Mike Drumeller; great-grandchildren Ruby and Owen Stenger; sister Nancy Christensen, brother John (Jack) Erwin; sister-in-law Helen Erwin; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband John (Jack) Flanagan; son Gary Flanagan; brother James Erwin; 3 sisters Kathryn Manthei, Eleanor Soldwish, Mary Jane Deyo; 3 brothers-in-law and 1 sister-in-law.

A visitation will take place on Friday, January 12, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Funeral Mass, 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 2505 School Street, Rockford, Illinois 61101.
