Delores A. "Lorrie" Pickett

Delores A. “Lorrie” Pickett, 79, of Rockford, passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2018. She was born in Bloomington, IL on August 30, 1938; daughter of Carl and Josephine Campbell. Delores went on to graduate from Harvard High School and married her loving husband Laverne Pickett on June 30, 1962 at St. Bridget Catholic Church in Rockford. She worked for Atwood Industries for 12 years and was manager for 21 years at the Luther Center before retiring in 2000. Delores was a member of the Red Hat Chicks and she was inspired to volunteer her time with Northern Illinois Hospice after her husband’s passing in 2003, and did so for a number of years.

Delores is survived by her children, Gregory (Constance) Pickett, Sheryl (Tony) Siedl, and Jeffery (Jessica) Pickett; grandchildren, Adam and Ryan Pickett, Kaitlin and Pace Siedl, and Tierra Tendall; great grandson, Wesley Peppers; sister, Phyllis Riley; special friends, Shannon Brimhall and June Maynard; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her husband, Laverne Pickett; parents, Josephine and Carl Campbell; brother in law, Jerry Riley; husbands parents, Harry and Verna Pickett.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 12, 2018, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 1860 S. Mulford Rd., Rockford, IL, 61108; with Father William Wentink officiating. Visitation from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial will follow immediately to Sunset Memorial Gardens.
