Della A. Guenzani

Della A. Guenzani, 96, of Rockford, passed away Sunday, December 12, 2010 surrounded by her family. Della was born May 3, 1914 in rural Pecatonica; the daughter of Frank and Amanda Lindquist. She married Louis Guenzani in Rockford on February 14, 1942. Louis predeceased her on October 14, 2001. Della worked for many years at Thayer Action, National Lock, and for Dr. Sponem, DDS. She owned and operated Della's Tax Service until she retired in 2004 at 90 years old. Member of Holy Family Church, Verdi Club Auxiliary and the Lunch Club at Holy Family. She was a graduate of Central High School, class of '31. Della was an avid bridge player. She also liked to knit and crochet and play dominoes. She loved to travel, but her most treasured moments were with her family. Survivors include her two daughters, Cindy (Drew) Gustafson and Carla (Jim) Stevens of Rockford; grandchildren, Dawn (Dan) Pendzinski, Andy (Lizzie Horwedel) Gustafson, Chad Stevens, Missy Stevens and Joe Stevens; great-grandchildren, Danielle and Drew Pendzinski and Logan Gustafson; special niece, Barbara (Bill) Gustafson; and several other nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents; husband; brothers, Reuben, Vernon and Maurice and sister, Pearl.Mass of Resurrection will be held at 1pm Friday, December 17, 2010 at Holy Family Catholic Church. Burial in Scandinavian Cemetery. Visitation from 4pm until 7pm Thursday, December 16, 2010 in Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Rockford, IL 61103. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established by the family.
