Debra L. "Debbie" Herrick

Debra L. “Debbie” Herrick, 57, of Rockford passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2013 in her home. Born January 31, 1956 in Rockford, the daughter of Dyne and Glenese (Hansen) Bowers. Debbie graduated from Harlem High School. She married Robert Herrick on July 29, 1978 at Centennial United Methodist Church in Rockford. She loved life, gardening, dogs and cooking. Earlier in her life, she was a member of the Ski Broncs and won awards for her sewing talent. Debbie was also an avid boater. She fought a courageous battle against Multiple Sclerosis for 32 years. Debbie is lovingly survived by her husband, Robert; father-in-law, Richard Herrick; sisters, Kathy (Ron) Broaddus and Janet Bakkelund; sister-in-law, Holly Erdmann; brothers-in-law, Steven Herrick and Thomas Herrick and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents and mother-in-law, Marcella M. Herrick. Funeral service will be at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 South Mulford Road. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial in Willwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family.
