David L. Klagues, 60 of Rockford died after a brief illness on August 23, 2012 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center. Born May 19, 1952 in Rockford the son of Jesse and Phyllis (Peters) Klagues. Graduate of East High School and Veteran of the United States Navy. Married Bonnie Castronovo and proudly adopted her son as his own. Worked for 20 years at Camcar, FPM Ipsen and Ingenium Aerospace as a Quality Control Manager. A faithful member of St. Peter Cathedral where he served as an usher, Eucharistic Minister and cantor. He was a member of the Lombardi Club, loved fishing , boating and was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. David was also a volunteer coaching football, basketball, and baseball through Kenrock Community Center and in 1996 helped bring Kenrock Bengals Football Team to a championship in their Heavyweight Division. Known for his skills in building and fixing anything ,he enjoyed working out in the yard and most important David was a very patient man, who loved every one, he will be missed dearly by all. Survivors include his wife, Bonnie; sons, Zachery Castronovo and Adam Klagues; daughter, Erica Klagues; granddaughter, Juliette Castronovo; brothers; Donald (Linda) and Dennis (Hildegard) Klagues and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents. Funeral Mass Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter Cathedral, 1243 N. Church St. Visitation Tuesday, August 28 from 57 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Riverside Chapel and will continue on Wednesday at church from 9 a.m. until time of prayer at 9:45 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorials to the family.
