David L Eyster

David L. Eyster, 74, of Rockford, was called home on Friday, August 4, 2017. He was born in Rockford on September 1, 1942; son of Lloyd and Helen (Romanczuk) Eyster. Dave was married to his loving wife, Carolyn (Douglass) Eyster on September 14, 1963 in Rockford. Dave worked for Barber-Colman for 43 years retiring in 2004. Dave was always a proud supporter of the Packers, White Sox, and Blackhawks, and hosted the annual Eyster Open for 29 years that brought his family together to play golf. A special thank you to John and Jean for many wonderful years of traveling the world; and a thank you to Mike and Margaret for all the afternoon’s golfing at Sandy Hollow. A special thanks to Dr. Einhorn; and to the Agrace Hospice Staff, especially Cain, Christine, Sue, and Julie.

Dave is survived by his wife, Carolyn; sons, Brad and Shelly Eyster, David and Mona Eyster; and his grandchildren, Jordan, Zachary, and Sophia Eyster. He is predeceased by his parents.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 8, 2017; at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 1860 S. Mulford Rd., Rockford, IL; with Rev. Andrea Wight officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial will follow to Willwood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be given to Agrace Hospice, 2901 N.
