David K Heiden

David K. Heiden, 76, of Rockford died Monday, April 4, 2016, with his family at his bedside. Born Dec. 9, 1939 in Freeport, the son of Karl and Frances (Anderson) Heiden. Married his loving wife, Norma Rudisill, on Sept. 5, 1959 and together they had 6 beautiful children. David worked for Valspar for over 25 years until his retirement. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and enjoyed gardening. He was an all-around Mr. Fix-it who if given a project or an idea, would get it fixed or get it done.

The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to David and Norma’s neighbors, Mike and Rita Raridon for the devoted assistance these past weeks.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years Norma Heiden; children, Wendy (Keith) Schaible, David Heiden, Sheryl (Brad) Ward, Suzanne Heiden, Holly (Keith Stewart) Heiden and Steven Heiden; grandchildren, Jason, Tyler and Lindsay. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Robert Heiden.

At David’s request all services will be private. Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Riverside Chapel is assisting the family. Memorials in David’s name may be given to the PAWS Humane Society of Rockford, PO Box 7722, Rockford, IL, 61126.
