David Griffith

David Christopher Griffith, 55, of Madison and formerly of Rockford died Thursday, April 23, 2015 in his home. Born April 5, 1960, the son of Mary Lou and Harold Griffith. After graduating from Rockford East High School he entered into the US Air Force and was honorably discharged. Dave had worked for Anderson Packaging, Quaker Oats, Rockford Standard, Swedish American Hospital and most recently University of Madison Health Care. He was a kind, gentle and loving man, making friends everywhere he went. David had a wonderful sense of humor and loved making people laugh. He was very loving and very lovable, he will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his siblings, Marjean Hawkins of Oaklawn, Cathy (Kurt) Johnson of Rockford, Tom (Terry) of Rockford and Denise Palmer of Vero Beach, FL; daughter, Jessica Mary of New Bedford, MA; nieces and nephews, Heidi Delahanty, Erik Johnson, Abby, Sarah and Colin Griffith, Dylan Palmer; great nephew, Evan Johnson; great nieces, Madison and Riley Delahanty and Lauren Johnson. He was preceded in death by his very loving and hardworking mother, Mary Lou and his father; brothers-in-law; Mike Hawkins and John Palmer.
Funeral Mass Saturday, May 2, 2015 at 10 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church, 428 N. Second St. Rockford. Visitation Friday, May 1 from 4-7 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel 1860 S. Mulford Rd. and continues on Saturday at church from 9 a.m. until time of prayer at 9:45 a.m. Interment will be held in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials to the family.
