Daryl Lee Streed, 53, of Caledonia passed away on Saturday February 18, 2017 surrounded by his family at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. Born February 1, 1964 in Rockford, IL; son of Herb and Jean (Lamont) Streed. Daryl graduated from Jefferson High School in Rockford and Northern Illinois University in DeKalb. Marrying his best friend, Teresa (Fitzpatrick) on August 6, 1988, Daryl devoted his life to his family and friends. Together, Teresa and Daryl raised their two sons, Brandon and Dylan, in a house full of love, laughter, and unwavering support. To Daryl, happiness came in the form of his family, fishing, snowmobiling, coaching youth sports and making people smile. Some of his greatest moments were making memories “Up North” enjoying the outdoors. Daryl had a successful career working as an Environmental Contractor. Quick with a smile and genuine conversation, Daryl became irreplaceable in the lives of all he touched. Daryl had no greater pride than the love and admiration he carried for his sons and wife.
Daryl is survived by his loving wife, Teresa (Fitzpatrick); sons, Brandon and Dylan; siblings, Dave (Mimi) Streed of Rockford, Mary (Carlton) Swain of Belvidere and Dale (Mary Jeanne) Streed of Belvidere; father, Herb Streed of Rockford; sisters-in-law, Kathy (Ted) Beck of Cherry Valley, Karin (Marty) Litwin of Algonquin; brother-in-law, Tim (Kathy) Fitzpatrick; numerous nieces and nephews and his beloved dog, Jovi. Predeceased by his mother, Margaret Jean; infant brother, Danny; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Mike and Lottie Fitzpatrick.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 24, 2017 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 3300 Rural Street, Rockford with Reverend Jeff Fricke officiating. Visitation for Daryl will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 PM on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Road, Rockford, IL 61108 and also from 10:00 to 10:45 AM on Friday at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family is accepting donations for a memorial to be determined at a later date.
