Darrell Andrew Dillenburg, 50, Poplar Grove, went home to be with his Lord on Monday, October 29, 2018, after a long battle with Frontal Temporal Dementia. He passed away in his home surrounded by his loving and dedicated family and friends who were there for him every step of the way. Darrell was born on April 16, 1968, in Rockford, the son of Kenney and Frances Dillenburg. He quickly developed a love for the great outdoors, which he carried throughout his life. He married Jennifer Driver of Marengo on August 4, 1990. They soon settled in Poplar Grove and began raising their family. Darrell’s favorite role was that of Dad or “Pay Pay” to his three children, Amanda, April, and Jacob. He had a heart that always wanted to help others and show them the love of Jesus Christ, a truth that was his sole source of strength. Darrell is survived by his parents, Kenney and Frances; his children, Amanda (Anthony) Weber, April Dillenburg, and Jacob (Katie) Dillenburg; his prized grandchildren, Alijah, Avery, Adalyn, Arbor and Elli and his brothers, Dale and Doug (Michele) Dillenburg. His love for Christ left a mark on all who met him and now he’s “living forever with Him in His home” Psalm 23:6. The family would like to recognize Dr. Anthony D’Souza and Northern Illinois Hospice for all of their tender care and love toward Darrell during this time.
