Darlene E. Pearson

Darlene E. Pearson, 81, passed on Wednesday, January 13th, 2021 surrounded by her loving family, and went to be with her Lord and Savior.
Darlene was born in Island Lake, Wisconsin on October 9, 1939. Daughter of the late Walter and Helen Vetterkind. Darlene married the love of her life, Fred Pearson, on December 28, 1957. Darlene was a dedicated member of Broadway Covenant Church and enjoyed serving on numerous committees over the years. She loved cooking and baking (her gingersnap cookies were beyond compare), and spending time with her family and her many friends.
She is survived by those who loved her most, her son David (Christine Haeggquist) Pearson, sisters Marge Keen, June (Darrel) Davis, May Frank, and Corrine (Lyle) Worthington; her brothers Gary (Velva) Vetterkind, Fritz (Nancy) Vetterkind, and Jack Vetterkind; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and so many friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Fred; her daughter Diane; sister Dona and brothers Kip, Tracy, Michael and an infant brother and sister. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Northern Illinois Hospice and Home Instead Senior Care.
Join us in celebration of Darlene’s life and the joy she has brought to those who knew her. Darlene’s service will be held on January 18, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Broadway Covenant Church, 3525 Broadway, Rockford, Illinois, followed by an interment at Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery, 6202 Charles Street, Rockford, Illinois. Masks and social distancing will be required. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Broadway Covenant, Northern Illinois Hospice or Home Instead Senior Care.
