Daniel J. Woods

Daniel Joseph Woods, 65, of Rockford, passed away at home surrounded by his family on Sunday, June 30, 2024.

Dan was born in Blue Island, IL on March 23, 1959, the son of Francis and Martina (Drnach) Woods. He graduated from Bremen High School. Dan worked many dedicated years for Pella Windows and Doors of Rockford. He married Jillene “Jill” Schiess on October 26, 1985, at St. Rita Catholic Church. Dan was a longtime member of St. Rita Catholic Church. He loved to watch football games, NASCAR and playing cards. He also enjoyed playing golf in his earlier years. Dan loved spending time with his family, friends and neighbors on his front porch or in his pool. Most of all, Dan cherished the time spent with family, especially his dear grandchildren.

Surviving relatives include his wife, Jill Woods; children, Lindsay (Erik) Larsen, Meagan Woods and Jason Woods; grandchildren, Luka and Nolan Larsen; siblings, Carol (Marv) Ruppert, Thomas (Janet) Woods, Michael Woods and Donna Woods; brother by love, John Newcomb and special friend, Bob Limberg; numerous nieces and nephews. Dan is predeceased by his parents and mother-in-law, Edna Pollen.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Tonya and Savannah with Northern Illinois Hospice for their kindness, care and compassion.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Dan’s name to Northern Illinois Hospice. 

A funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until time of the Mass on Friday, July 12, 2024, at St. Rita Catholic Church, 6284 Valley Knoll Drive, Rockford, IL 61109.
