Daniel Titus Murphy

Daniel Titus Murphy of Rockton passed away Tuesday November 16, 2010 in Rockford Memorial Hospital.nbsp; He was born May 14, 1926 in Pawtucket, RI, the son of Daniel and Ella Murphy.nbsp; He married Lee Herron on Christmas Eve; they were married for 49 years.nbsp; He went on to serve in the Merchant Marines in WWII.nbsp; Daniel was a longtime employee of Sunstrand Aviation, retiring in 2000.nbsp; He enjoyed fishing, traveling and working around his 15 acres in Rockton.nbsp; He graduated from Brown University, Boston University.nbsp; He received his Masters degree at age 82, he was the oldest person in the history of Boston University to be conferred a Masters degree.nbsp; Survivors include his four sons; Daniel Paul Murphy, Douglas Murphy, Matthew Murphy and David Murphy.nbsp; Eight grandchildren; Daniel James, Christina, Kevin, Hannah, Hayden, Grace, Alex and Zane.

Services will be Saturday November 20, 2010 at 2:30pm in Fitzgerald Funeral Home Riverside Chapel.nbsp; Burial in Rockton Cemetery.nbsp; Visitation from 1:30pm until time of service, Saturday in the Chapel.nbsp; Express online condolences at www.fitzgeraldfh.com
