Daniel R. Erb

Daniel R. Erb, 68, of Monroe Center, IL passed away on Saturday, September 4, 2021.

Dan was born in Rockford, IL on June 15, 1953, son of Guy and Marie (Krischke) Erb. He graduated from Auburn High School, Class of 1972. Dan married Mary Jane Brooks on June 12, 1981 in Rockford. They own and operate Phil’s Power Plus. He was a member of Berean Baptist Church of Rockford for 60 years and a current member of Berean Baptist Church of Beloit, WI. Dan faithfully served in the bus ministry as driver and mechanic. He enjoyed family vacations, watching FOX News and adding to his old car collection. Most of all, Dan cherished his time spent with family and being “Papa” to his loving grandchildren.

Those left to honor Dan’s memory include his wife, Mary Jane Erb; children, Erica (John) Stalions and Nathan (Lauren) Erb; grandchildren, Mary, Anna, Caleb, Tenley, Brookley, Arley and Rigsley; brothers, Butch (Carol) Erb, Steve (Corrine) Erb, Dennis (Kathy) Erb and Bryan (Tina) Erb; numerous nieces and nephews. Dan is predeceased by his parents and sister, Valerie Jo Erb.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. located at Berean Baptist Church of Rockford, 5626 Safford Rd. Rockford, IL 61101. Final resting place will be in Willwood Burial Park, Rockford, IL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to the Erb family for a memorial to be established at a later date.
