Daniel L. OBrien Daniel L. OBrien, 64, of Port Byron, IL, formerly of Rockford, died on Nov. 3, 2009 at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, in Silvis, IL. Dan was born August 25, 1945 in Taylorville, IL,the son of Herschel and Elinor (VanGiesen) OBrien. Dan married Debra J. (Dolan) Coul on June 13, 1992 at Church by the Side of the Road in Rockton, IL. Dan served in the U.S. Air Force during which time he was stationed in Taiwan. He received his Bachelors Degree in Economics from Rockford College and worked at Camcar/Textron Corp. for 28 years and was currently a Global Commodities Specialist for Trinity Logistics Corp. in Davenport, Iowa. Dan was a member of H.O.G. and supporter of the Rockford Rescue Mission. He was an artist and loved oil painting of wildlife, a collector of bowie knives, loved gardening, landscaping, and golfing, and was an avid Chicago Bears fan. Dan is survived by his wife, Debra; children, Stacey OBrien, of Freeport, IL. Matt (Sarah) OBrien, of South Beloit, IL, Christopher Coul, of Geneva, IL, and Stacey (Gary Loveridge) Coul, of Rockford, IL; grandchildren, Baily, Alexis, Mackenzie, Jaden, Hunter, Kylee, and Irelyn; sister, Shirley Bialis, and many nieces and nephews. Dan was predeceased by his parents and his sister, Joan. Funeral services for Dan will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2009 at 12:30 p.m. at Kettlecamp Cemetery in Nokomis, IL. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 6, 2009 from 5 -7 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home amp; Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd., Rockford, IL 61108.
