Dana D. Bailey, 84, of Rockford passed away Thursday, March 30, 2017 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center. Born August 13, 1932, in Jackson, Ohio, the son of George and Winifred Bailey. Dana was a veteran serving in the United States Army. He married Marsha Yungen in Las Vegas on December 12, 1994. He worked for Sundstrand for 37 years. Dana was a lifelong Chicago Bears and Cubs fan who was thrilled to see the Cubs win the World Series. He loved watching sports and Westerns on TV. Marsha and Dana enjoyed their daily Jeopardy competitions. Music was a large part of his life, singing in many choruses throughout his life. He also enjoyed gambling and always looked forward to weekly family dinners.
Survived by his wife, Marsha; children, Dusty Bailey, Kelly (Joel) DeWall, Liz Babcock and Lynda Bailey; stepdaughter, Nicole (Todd) Donnay; grandchildren, Alex Bailey, Ryan Bailey, Aaron Roach, Christian Babcock, Garrick DeWall and Lillian Yungen; one great-grandchild on the way and his cats, Misty and Minx. Predeceased by his parents and 3 sisters.
Per Dana’s request, there will not be any services held at this time. Cremation rites accorded. Memorials may be made to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date.
