Dallas Buss, 77, of Rockford, passed away on Monday, June 26, 2023.
Dallas was born in Minnesota on December 21, 1945, son of George and Tina (Tuin) Buss Sr. He was employed for 31 dedicated years with Chrysler of Belvidere in the materials department and was a union steward. Dallas was a proud member of the UAW Local 1268 and was also member of the Belvidere American Legion of Belvidere. He loved riding his motorcycle as well as snowmobiling in the wintertime. Dallas enjoyed G-scale model railroading and devoted his time and patience to woodworking. Most of all, he cherished his time spent with his family and loved ones. Dallas will be greatly missed.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Rita Buss; children, Christine Buss, Dan (Michele) Buss and Darrin Buss; grandchildren, Kyle, Abby, Drake, Dillon, and Bryan; 2 great-grandchildren, Jayden and Elijah; siblings, Sharon Hammel, George (Jeanne) Buss Jr., Lyle (Debbie) Buss, Sharilyn (Ron) Solberg, Marilyn (Gary) Brockway, Staria (Lee) Kester, Donnel (Dave) Johnson and Kathy (Randy) Overend; sisters-in-law, Donna Buss, Ginny (Tom) Starkson and Carol Buss; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Dallas is predeceased by his parents; brothers, Dennis, Donnie, Darwin, and Lonnie Buss; brother-in-law, Lee Hammel; nephews, Jerry Hammel, Jason and Jeff Buss and niece, Kim Buss.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held on Saturday, July 1, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Rockford, IL 61108.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Dallas’s name to Northern Illinois Hospice.
