Dale C. Danielsen, 87, of Rockford, passed away peacefully, with his loving family beside him and in the arms of his wife on September 15, 2016 at his home. Born July 7, 1929 in Estherville, IA, the son of Samuel B. & Mary A. (Rogers) Danielsen. Graduated from Estherville High School. Received his Bachelor's Degree from Morningside College in Sioux City, Ia. where he met and married his love Jacqueline N. Weigel on 7/22/50. Served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Returned home to work toward his Masters Degree at the University of Iowa. Moved to Illinois and taught at Harlem High School where he was an Illinois delegate and lifetime member of the National Education Association. He was instrumental in acquiring a fair teacher's pay scale. After retiring from teaching, he founded Telamon Contractors. He served as President of the Rockford Home Builders. He was always known for his strong work ethic and philanthropy - always willing to help any individual in need. He loved traveling the world and spending time with his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Jackie; daughters Laura (Frank) Houtkamp and Lisa Burnett; grandchildren William & Benjamin Houtkamp; Livia (James) Bane; great grandchildren twins Violet & Garrett and Jimmy Bane; brothers David and Donald, one sister, Miriam, numerous nieces and nephews, and many dear friends.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Heartland Hospice and Comfort Keepers for excellent care and support. Per Dale's request his body was donated for scientific studies and there will be no services.
