Connie J. Stardy

Connie J. Stardy, 74, Belvidere, passed away on Tuesday, August 10, 2021, at Parkside Manor. She was born on May 29, 1947, in Woodstock, the daughter of Myron E. and Elizabeth A. (Fuller) Burman. Connie owned and operated “Connie’s Café” in Florida during the 90”s and after moving to Belvidere she worked at Grandma’s Restaurant in Belvidere for many years until her retirement. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and gardening but most of all she loved being a grandma and spending time with her grandchildren.
Survived by her son, Grant F. (Angela) Stardy III and her daughter, Kimberly J. Leni; her grandchildren, Kristin J. Stardy, Grant F. Stardy IV, and Garrett Stardy; her siblings, Richard (Adrienne) Burman, Jean Repp, Susan (Bob) Depta, Robin (Mike) Wevik, Rod (Jen) Burman, Rock (Trina) Burman, and Renee (Paul) Gadowski; many nieces, nephews, and extended family. Predeceased by her parents and by the father of her children, Grant F. Stardy, Jr. in 2010.
There will be a Celebration of Life gathering from 10:00 A.M. until noon on Saturday, August 21, 2021, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Rockford. Everyone is invited to a luncheon immediately following the memorial gathering to be held at the VFW Post #1461, 1310 West Lincoln Av. in Belvidere from noon until 4:00 P.M.
