Cody R. Maynard

Cody R. Maynard, 22, of Rockford died Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2016 at Van Matre Health South after a brief illness. Born April 12, 1994 the son of Scott Maynard and Heather (Meyer) Maynard. Cody was formerly employed by Conway Trucking as a forklift operator. He was an avid fisherman, video gamer, card player and ESPN/NFL Network fanatic. He was known to walk into a room and change the channel no matter what was on or who was watching it. Cody cherished his time playing football and baseball with his younger siblings and eating sweet potato pie. He was a HUGE Chicago Bears fan and the family encourages all guests to wear their favorite jersey or t-shirt.
Survivors include his mother, Heather Maynard; father, Scott Maynard; siblings, Amber, McKaylynn, James Thomas “J.T.” and Braeden Maynard; maternal grandmother, Barb Meyer; paternal grandmother, Claudina Maynard and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by both his paternal and maternal grandfathers.
Funeral service Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2016 at 11 a.m at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Mulford Chapel 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Park, Machesney Park. Visitation Monday, Oct. 3 from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home and continues on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers memorials to the family.
