Clara C. Stevens

Clara C. Stevens, 84, Rockford, died Tuesday, May 19, 2009, in Rockford Memorial Hospital. She was born November 24, 1924, in Cary, WI, the daughter of Dominic and Maria (Dal Collo) Bertuso. Clara worked for J. I. Case Co. before she met Tom J. Stevens and married in 1951, started a family together and built their home on the family farm in Owen Township. She was a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church. Clara enjoyed bowling and playing Bingo. She was an election judge for many years and Clara was a longtime member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Northwest Fire Department. She was also active with her children in 4-H where she helped in the 4-H restaurant during fair time. Clara""s greatest joy in life was spending time with her husband, Tom, and her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was a very hard worker her entire life in whatever she did. Survived by her loving husband, Tom; daughter, Chris (Mike Stone) Warren of Rockford, sons, John (Coy) and Mike (Lorie) Stevens, both of Rockford, and Dan (Diane Lindquist) of Roscoe; grandchildren, Garrett (Talia Romeo) Warren, Trisha (Ricky) Orr, and Jason Warren, Joel, Cody, and Tyler Stevens; step-grandchildren, Bridget Taylor and Samantha Lindquist; several great-grandchildren and sister-in-law, Lee Bertuso. Predeceased by parents; sisters, Regina Bertuso and Cisera Pasqualucci, and brothers, Milo Bertuso and an infant; son-in-law, Gary Warren; brother-in-law, Ber Pasqualucci; and loving mother-in-law, Angeline Stevens. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30am on Wednesday, May 27, 2009, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Av. Rockford, IL 61103 with Father Matthew T. Rudden officiating. Burial in Owen Township Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 26, 2009, from 5:00-8:00pm at the funeral home and also from 9:30am - 10:15am on Wednesday.
