Chrystelle Lee Janke Andrews, 38, of Roscoe, IL, died as the result of an automobile accident on Wednesday, March 10, 2021. She was born June 1, 1982, in Laramie, Wyoming, the daughter of Byron and Martha (Vos) Janke. Chrystelle is a 2000 graduate of Jefferson High School, where she participated in many activities. She married Mike Andrews in 2006 and they had three children together. She attended ISU and later returned to school at Rock Valley College where she earned her nursing degree. Chrystelle began her nursing career at Mercy Hospital where she was a nurse in the step down ICU. She then went to the Emergency Department at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center where she gained so much respect and admiration for first responders and emergency personnel. She was in the process of becoming a preceptor for others at OSF. Chrystelle loved life and was loyal to a fault. She was a creature of habit with a contagious, infectious smile. She was always a fast talker and even carried it over to signing fast. Coral was her favorite color and she saw it in every sunset. Her children were her world! Nobody was a better advocate for her children as she taught them to be loving and tolerant of all. Chrystelle was proof that a worried mother does better research than the FBI. She firmly believed in living life to the fullest each and every day while doing things that make you happy. “Life is short, so live it”.
Chrystelle will be greatly cherished by her children, Tristan, Alyssa, and Mykala; parents, Byron and Martha Janke; the love of her life, Matt Sands, and his daughters, Victoria and Paige, who she accepted and treated as her own children; sister, Chelsey (Ryan) Talley; brother, Jason (Heather) Olson; niece, Madison; nephews, Jeremiah, and Brayden; maternal grandmother, Doris Vos; and numerous Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. She is predeceased by her nephews, Brantley and Sawyer Talley, paternal grandparents, Clifford and Elsie Janke and Jean Janke, and maternal grandfather, Jim Vos.
