Christopher R. O?Brien

Christopher R. "Chris" OBrien, 35, of Rockford, died Tuesday, December 1, 2009, after a lengthy illness, at SwedishAmerican Hospital. Born September 23, 1974, son of David and Pat (Hagemann) OBrien. Chris attended Boylan Catholic High School and moved to Florida in 1992, where he worked at Walt Disney World until returning to Rockford in 1996. Past member of St. Bridget Catholic church, attended St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Freeport and later attended Heartland Church. Chris had a special love for his nieces and treasured his time spent with them. Survivors include his parents, David and Pat OBrien of German Valley; brother, Kelly (Tracy) OBrien of La Crosse, WI; sister, Tonya Reuber of Rockton; nieces, Mikaya Reuber, Irelyn and Rylee OBrien; paternal grandmother, Marian OBrien of Rockford; maternal grandfather, Leonard (Alice) Hagemann of German Valley; aunts, uncles ,cousins and special friend, John Price. Preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Richard E. OBrien and brother-in-law, Tory Reuber. Funeral Mass Saturday, December 5, 2009 at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 2300 Bell Ave. at 10:30 a.m. Visitation Friday, December 4, 2009 from 5 -7 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Ave with a Rosary Service to be recited at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue on Saturday in St. Bernadette Parish Hall from 9:30- 10:15 a.m. Inurnment will be held at a later date at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
