Christopher Michael Dalton

Christopher ""Chris"" Charles Michael "" Skeeter"" Dalton, 49, of Rockford passed away on Friday August 31, 2007, in Rockford Memorial Hospital after a long illness. Born December 14, 1957, the son of Charles R. and Mavis M. Thennis Dalton. Chris married Judy Schaffer on June 6, 2003, in Rockford. He worked at Eaton Corp in Rochelle as a machinist and foreman and later was a computer programmer at Landal before returning to Eaton Corp. Chris was a great man and had more friends than he knew. People who met him knew he always listened, he used to tease people and say ""Im gonna hang a shingle on your home that would say Daltons Counseling"" and then laugh. Chris always had a helping hand for the underdog, that was just his way. Chris was the light of Judys life and she will miss him forever. They broke the mold when they made him and everyone will truly miss him. Survivors include his wife; Judy, step-daughter; Angelique (Mark) Hubler, granddaughters; Alexis and Kasey, sisters; Becky (John) Kirby, and Mikel (Rod) Pensinger, children; Amie and Timothy Dalton, father-in-law; Bill Schaffer and mother-in-law; Judy Fuller, nieces and nephews; Joe, Jessica, Emily, Bruce and Maria, and their husbands, wives, and boyfriend. Predeceased by his parents; Charles and Mavis Dalton.Funeral service will be held on Tuesday September 4, 2007 at 1:00PM at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, RiversideChapel, 3910 N. Rockton Ave. with Pastor Susan Davenport, United Lutheran Church officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00AM until time of service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family.
