Christopher "Chris" G. Carlson

Christopher “Chris” G. Carlson, 42, of Rockford, IL passed away Wednesday, August 11, 2021. He was born October 2, 1978 in Rockford, IL the son to Reverend Gregory and Marilyn (Wafford) Carlson. Chris attended Rockford Lutheran High School and Jefferson High School, graduating from Jefferson in 1997. He then went on to get a degree in broadcasting. Chris had an amazing voice and enjoyed radio. He was a man that loved people and had the ability to engage anyone in small talk. He never met a stranger and his sense of humor was enjoyed by many. Chris was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and the outdoors. Chris was a beloved son, brother, nephew, cousin and friend who will be deeply missed by those that knew and loved him.
Chris is survived by his loving parents, Reverend Gregory and Marilyn Carlson; brother, Aaron Carlson; aunts, Cindi (Rod) Dosier, Lori Branning, Patrice Carlson; best friend and faithful companion, Philly. Predeceased by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Services for Chris are private. Chris will be laid to rest at Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family for a cause to be determined by sending to Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Rockford, IL 61108.
